Matthew E. O'Neil (born March 7, 1976 in Newton, Massachusetts) is a rgistered Repubican.He has voted every year since 2012. He is an athlete, university graduate, and former political candidate. He competed in two USA Boxing sanctioned bouts winning both by stoppage. He knocked out Jeffrey Naquin for a ten count. Naquin was on the 1991 and 1993 LSU National Baseball team.O'Neil tko'd 1997-1998 All Army superheavyweight champion Preston Hartzog in 1999. Hartzog was in the U.S. Army World Class Athlete Program.

Ninety percent of the world class Vegas strip is located in the unincorporated city of Paradise, Nevada.

The position Clark County Commission (District G) represents that area, On November 7, 2006 O'Neil recieved 38 percent of the vote for that post.He lost to the reigning chairman of the commission, Rory Reid. Reid ran for and lost for governor of Nevada in 2010.O'Neil has voted Republican since 2012.

On June 7, 2018 O'Neil was contacted by telephone by Nick Meeker of The Wyoming State Board of Mixed Martial Arts and offered a license to compete as an athlete based upon his athletic, academic, and professional credentials.O'Neil has voted Republican for the last seven consecutive years, beginning in 2012.
